To demonstrate how its high-performance tires perform under extreme conditions while deepening its connection with passionate drivers, BFGoodrich tasked MotorTrend to engage its audience of automotive enthusiasts and DIYers. In response MotorTrend created the “Driver Enough Challenge” a custom head-to-head driving competition and content series pitting everyday enthusiasts against BFG’s professional drivers. Held at Willow Springs Raceway, this on- and off-road driving event put BFG tires at the center of a dramatic, unscripted product demonstration.

MotorTrend recruited a mix of local drivers and national contest winners to test both their skills and the limits of BFG-equipped vehicles. Competitors split time between a Ford Mustang GT for road course precision and a Ford Raptor for off-road capability. Every lap pushed the drivers and the tires to their limit, showcasing true performance in real-world conditions.

BFGoodrich’s pro drivers served as coaches and benchmark setters, but in a twist no one saw coming, an amateur clocked the fastest time of the event and claimed the title of “Driver Enough” champion. The unexpected result created an organic, buzz-worthy narrative that inspired BFG to expand the campaign, ultimately sending the winner to hone his skills at Skip Barber Racing School before competing in a professionally sanctioned Mazda MX-5 Cup race, turning an amateur’s dream into a high-speed reality.
